During the backstage tour, you will be getting a clear image of what it’s like to manage a zoo. The tour will kick off with an introduction on the 170-year old history of the Zoo. Thereafter, you will be taken to places the normal visitor cannot come, all under guidance of a professional guide.
Visit the kitchen, where the à la carte meals are prepared for each species, the filter installations of the aquariums, the workplace of the vet, the operation room, and the labs and breeding rooms for tarantulas and the cockroaches. Will you dare to keep up with the guide?
During this backstage tour, you will not be coming across a lot of animals and the explanation may be technical. Due to the many stairs and slim passages this tour may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.
